Network Functions
Greater Manchester Critical Care Network has solid engagement with clinicians, commissioners and managers which has contributed to the effective development of critical care services within the region for the benefit of all critically ill patients. This approach has created an environment where clinicians and commissioners are willing to share best practice, experience, skills and knowledge and a proactive approach to change has enhanced the development of clinical innovation and service delivery. In many instances, this has improved consistency of service standards and equitable provision of care throughout the Network. The Network takes a whole system approach to ensuring the delivery of safe and effective services across the health community and adds value for all its stakeholders.
The Network takes a whole system approach to ensuring the delivery of safe and effective services across the Greater Manchester health community in order to provide valuable expertise, advice and facilitation.
The Critical Care Network works closely with the Critical Care Networks in the North West and with other regional Networks (including Cancer, Cardiac and Renal) in order to identify and address issues which interface across clinical services regionally or nationally.
Operational
Delivery Networks
Operational Delivery Networks (ODNs) cover areas such as neonatal intensive care, adult critical care, burns and major trauma and are focused on coordinating patient pathways between providers over a wide area to ensure access to specialist support. ODNs will need to work closely with Strategic Clinical Networks, commissioners, providers and patients.
