The Data group of the Network within its terms of reference works to define ,validate & improve upon the information needs of Critical Care to meet the demands placed upon the service.

Information is collected from a range of data & information flows and includes both clinical data through Clinical Information systems, inputs from units into the  Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC), the  National Critical Care Minimum  Data Set (CCMDS), Hospital Episodes & Statistics (HES)  as well as information for service design and delivery from a range of agencies such as The Intensive Care Bed Bureau (ICBIS).

The group’s goal is to continually improve upon the quality, accuracy &  timeliness  of information  that includes core information that can be streamlined and simplified for ease of access to all service managers/ clinicians across the Network.

The Forum is currently chaired by Dr Jane Eddleston and for information around the work of the forum please contact Karen Berry.Karen.berry@cmft.nhs.uk
